Trotz der Corona- Pandemie fanden auch dieses Jahr die MTV Musik Awards statt, nur ein wenig anders als gewohnt. Die Starbesetzung feierte die Show im „Corona- Style“: Maske und Abstand war dieses Jahr also Motto.
Sängerin Lady Gaga räumte unglaubliche vier Awards ab, damit führte sie die Gewinnerliste. Sie gewann: "Song of the Year", „Best Collaboration", "Artist of the Year" und den "Tricon Award". Neben Lady Gaga durfte sich auch die Südkoreanische Boyband BTS über viele Preise freuen. Die Jungs von BTS nahmen in den Kategorien: "Best Pop", "Best K-Pop", "Best Group" Awards nach Hause.
